Grand Day Out – Sunday 18th October
Dear Parents,
The Scout Association Isle of Man is organising a Grand Day Out for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders on Sunday 18th October at the NSC Douglas. This will be an opportunity for us all to get together, have some fun and celebrate Scouting.
Each section will take part in a variety of different activities, some indoors, some outdoors, and the day will finish with a short closing ceremony, which parents, grandparents, friends and family are invited to attend.
The closing ceremony will take place in the NSC grandstand, and start at 3.30pm, finishing by 4.00pm. If it is very wet, it will take place in the main sports hall instead.
The children will need to bring with them a drinks bottle, packed lunch, a waterproof coat, and should wear their uniform and trainers. Please make sure that all of these items are named. The Scout Association Isle of Man is covering the cost of the day, and so there is no charge for the day.
A bus will be leaving from Marown School at 9.45am prompt, and therefore we ask that you drop your child off at Marown School between 9.30am and 9.35am. We will be unable to wait for late arrivals.
Children should be dropped off at the main sports hall at the NSC Douglas at 10.00am.
The event will finish at 4.00pm and all children should be collected from the NSC outside grandstand. Please note that there is NO transport back home, as we hope that as many parents as possible will come along and take part in the closing ceremony. If it is very wet, the children should be collected from the main sports hall instead.
If your child would like to take part in this event, please return the permission slip below to your child’s leader by Friday 9th October.
Yours in Scouting
Paul Craine
